They can't promise anyone safety until they know who is doing the witch-craft. They don't want to promise safety if they can't ensure it. Quote Two- I chose this quote because it's saying that those people who have an opinion on things have a social outlook on things. If you don't speak on then they might think that you are doing some sort of witch-craft. Why is witch-craft so bad that a person that may be doing it gets killed? How do you prove witch-craft is being done? Quote Three- I chose this quote because to me it's saying that Abigail is trying to be with John Proctor even though he has a wife. She doesn't want to loose him to her. He tries to tell her that he doesn't want to be with her, but she won't take no for an answer. She wants his wife dead, so she is going to try and get her killed by accusing her of witch-craft.
